Wellington's Tea & Pastry -- The Beginning

It all began with that last cup of tea dumped into Boston Harbor in 1773. Now, more than 200 years later, Wellington's is prepared to take the flak and reintroduce a decent cuppa. Gill has a bit of background experience, having grown up in England. Thomas, an original partner, was born over there (Norwich) and grew up here in the former colonies...but he's a quick learner! Duane is from the central part of Montana and, in self defense, has learned to make a good cup of tea. Now, a few years later,Thomas has finished university and moved on to pursue his career as a financial analyst and lives with his wife, Jill and their sons, Connor and Braden, in California.

Wellington's English Tea & Pastry Shop served Bozeman for 5 years, introducing many folk to a range of good teas and to the English cuisine. Run by Gill and her husband Duane, and their son Thomas, the teashop often served as a learning centre where they disseminated the knowledge of how to make that perfect cup of tea. In the process, the family learned that succulent scones are enjoyed by a wide range of people!

The learning process also involved studying up on tea itself and, over the course of years, we realized we were carrying over 40 different types of really good tea. We also found that an Earl Grey tea will vary from company to company and one was not equally as good as the next! The source of one's tea, therefore, is very important. Wellington's is happy with its sources, and we trust you will be, also.

New Beginnings (2011)

Wellington’s has enjoyed so much support over the years from a lot of tea aficionados. We have been blessed to have that support, both when the main shop was open all those years and afterwards, through the website and secondary shop. We have always said that Wellington’s has the best customers. I have so much enjoyed you all and appreciated your feedback, your business and your suggestions.

Now, I am handing you over to the new owners of Wellington’s: Ceilon, Michelle and Mike, all people who dearly love Wellington’s. I am confident they will look after your tea needs and will appreciate you as much as I have. They are long-time supporters of our tea business and I am comfortable saying that they will do a great job of continuing the business in a way that reflects well on our good name: Wellington’s English Tea & Pastry. Thank you, all of you.
